Outcomes & Strategies

Outcomes:

  • Identify specific ways to make the family practice environment more quality focused for the patient, family physician and staff
  • Recommend actions for implementing technological enhancements that will improve the efficiency of the practice environment

Strategies:

Seven Key Questions:

  1. What are people's perceived healthcare needs and what are the perceptions about how family practice can meet them?
  2. What are the challenges family practice must overcome to meet contemporary expectations of people?
  3. Why, if at all, would people select and prefer family physicians as their primary physicians?
  4. What, if anything, is distinct about family physicians?
  5. Is there a group for which family practice is irrelevant or makes no sense?  If so, who?
  6. What are family practice's most promising, but unrealized, opportunities?
  7. Do people desire the core attributes of family practice (e.g., first contact, continuity, community basis and context, comprehensiveness)?
